Join us for a virtual Scotch whisky tasting. Garth Johnson, the Everson Museum of Art’s Paul Phillips and Sharon Sullivan Curator of Ceramics will be joined by Balvenie’s East Coast ambassador Naomi Leslie. For the past decade, Balvenie has distinguished its own pursuit of the art and craft of distilling by highlighting and recognizing the work created by craftspeople across the globe. In 2015, Balvenie teamed up with the late Anthony Bourdain to create the video series Raw Craft, which revolves around conversations with craftspeople who share Bourdain’s commitment to obsession and elbow grease.

Postponed - Public Art Intersecting History: Past Reflections and Future Opportunities

TBA
FREE with Museum Admission

We have recently witnessed how public sculpture representing some historical figures can foster heated controversy. There are both national and even local examples. But there are also unlimited opportunities for our history to inform the creation of public art that can be creative, place making and community building. Come explore both past examples and future prospects for such “historical” public art, especially around Greater Syracuse, with Dennis Connors, former curator of history at the Onondaga Historical Association.
